Various documentation audits are underway from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Medicare Advantage Plans, Veterans Association (VA), and state Medicaid Plans. More recently, several Medicare Administrative Contractors (MACs) have launched Targeted Probe and Educate (TPE) audits (as of September 1, 2021). It is important for providers to understand the intent and focus of CMS TPE audits. Participants will be introduced to CMS TPE Therapy Findings, the TPE process, and some best practices when responding to TPEs, Additional Documentation Requests ( ADRs), and Zone Integrity Audits.
